Backpack is a regulated crypto exchange and self-custody wallet. Fiat on/off-ramps are how users get in and out — reliability here is mission-critical.

As a Fiat / Payment Engineer you'll build and harden the payment rails, integrations and reconciliation systems that move real money safely.

Tech Stack: Rust, TypeScript, PostgreSQL

What you'll do:

Build and maintain fiat on/off-ramp and payment integrations
Design reliable, auditable systems for settlement and reconciliation
Handle edge cases, retries and failure modes with care
Partner with compliance and finance on payment flows

We're looking for:

Strong backend experience (Rust a plus) with payment or financial systems
A reliability-first mindset and attention to correctness
Bonus: experience with PSPs, banking rails or crypto on/off-ramps
